Mixed Heirloom Lettuce

This incredibly vigorous lettuce seed is harvested from our three favourite kinds of lettuce at the farm: Xena (green), Ibis (red), and Jester (red and green speckled). All are heirloom varieties, and Ibis is even a rare/endangered vegetable. Try scattering this lettuce mix around the garden- you'll find heads popping up everywhere!

Xena is a crisp green lettuce with tightly ruffled edges; mild flavour and buttery texture. Ibis is a dark red lettuce with loose ruffling and a savoury vegetal flavour. Jester is green with red speckling; wide leaves with a nice sweet crunch to them.

All of this lettuce can be eaten either as a full head, or by pulling a few leaves off as needed. Each variety germinates and bolts at slightly different temperatures, but this is generally a very cold-hardy mix that likes spring & fall better than the heat of summer. I also have several customers which grow this lettuce indoors under grow lights in the winter.

Grown organically with love and tenderness in the Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada, in the summer of 2024. Germination tested Winter 2024. Minimum 100 seeds.
