Magnum Beefsteak Tomato

The star of the 2024 season! This variety produces a bounty of large, bright red tomatoes with an out-of-this-world taste and consistency, both raw and cooked. Tomatoes are perfectly blemish-free, ripening evenly on or off the vine. The plants are very sturdy but will require trellising to support the huge bunches of tomatoes.

This tomato was developed by Charles "Chuck" Wyatt of Baltimore, USA. Chuck was a prolific breeder of heirloom tomatoes- and frequent poster in early internet tomato forums! He also had a hand in the development of another variety carried by Franken Farm, Banana Legs.

Other Growing Notes:

• I recommend removing all but 4 blossoms per flowering branch. This will prevent branches breaking from the weight of ripening tomatoes, and also push the plant to produce more flowering branches overall.
• This tomato is semi-determinate. This means it grows best when it is pruned, but not too aggressively.
• I stripped all my plants of green tomatoes before the first frost, and they ripened beautifully indoors under newspaper, lasting until mid-December.

Grown organically with love and tenderness in the Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada, in the summer of 2024. Germination tested December 2024. Minimum 30 seeds.
