Jasmine Tobacco Nicotiana

Jasmine Tobacco is a distinct tobacco species, Nicotiana alata, that produces heavenly jasmine-scented blossoms. The delicate white flowers are long and tubular, and provide food to underappreciated pollinators like moths. This species is grown as an ornamental and is not used for smoking. If planted throughout the garden, it offers some pest and disease resistance to surrounding plants.

This flower feels like magic to me. Fascinatingly, it smells much more powerful at night. Sitting by the garden on a summer evening, you can literally smell them opening up as the sun sets. It all makes sense when you see the moths descend on the blossoms in the moonlight. These flowers are pollinated by insects of the night, and this delicious smell is how they call out to them. 

Grown organically with love and tenderness in the Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada, in the summer of 2023. Germination tested. Minimum 200 seeds.
