Forme de Coeur Tomato
This Quebecois heirloom's name translates to "heart-shaped." It is in danger of going extinct as it is no longer widely grown, despite being a backyard gardener's dream. The plants are short and sturdy, bearing crop after crop of fire-engine red, perfectly tender tomatoes, up until the first frost. Suitable for garden or large container. This is the perfect plant for someone who wants one or two perfect tomatoes each day all season.
A note on germination. After several years of growing and testing, I have observed this variety to consistently have germination levels around 70-80%. Typically tomato seeds must have 90-100% germination to be approved for sale at Franken Farm, but I make an exception for this variety, and include 10 extra seeds in each package.
Grown organically with love and tenderness in the Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada, in the summer of 2022. Germination tested December 2023. Quantity, 40 seeds.
