Early Frosty Pea

An extremely vigorous and cold-hardy variety of fresh pea that just keeps producing! Provide them with trellising and they can grow over 4 feet tall. Peas are sweet and crunchy, the perfect fresh garden snack, though they also freeze well. This variety is an open-pollinated heirloom developed in the mid-20th century.

Growing Notes:

• Try planting as soon as the ground is workable for an early season boost of nutrition! This isn't necessary though- peas can be planted anytime throughout the season and even into the early fall. They need plenty of moisture to germinte though, so I avoid planting at the hottest and dryest times.
• Pea plants actually produce more when regularly harvested- pick all developed peas regularly to stimulate more production.

Grown organically with love and tenderness in the Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada, in the summer of 2024. Germination tested December 2024. Minimum 30 peas.
